Ladies Captain – Myra Burrows
I am a local girl, born in Great Bowden, raised in Arthingworth and worked in Market Harborough for the Midland Bank and later at the Market Harborough Building Society.
Married to Rod for 46 years, a member of the Seniors Section, we have a daughter and a son who both live locally.
I have always been interested in sport either watching or participating , playing hockey and squash before taking up golf nine years ago when I retired, after learning the basics of the game at Blackthorne Golf Club I joined Market Harborough as Rod, who had taken early retirement, was already a member.
I have played an active part in the Ladies Section and until I became Lady Vice Captain was Handicap Secretary and Assistant Competition Secretary.
I am honoured to be asked to become the Ladies Captain for 2017 and hope that myself and the other Captains will work together to make Market Harborough Golf Club even more successful than it already is.
My charity for 2017 is Parkinsons UK, the reason for choosing this is that Rod was recently diagnosed with the disease and has received lots of support from the charity.
