We are delighted to confirm that Steven Whittle joins us on Monday 27 June 2016. Steven will combine managing the shop and related services with also being available to all members as a coach, helping individuals and groups to improve their game. Watch this space for more information about lesson programmes.
Steven tells us:
“Having spent 9 years as a PGA Professional at both The Leicestershire Golf Club, and at Humberstone Heights Golf Complex in Leicester, I bring a vast amount of experience to the position at Market Harborough Golf Club. As an amateur I was a member of Hinckley Golf Club winning various club honours and competing in the PGA National Assistants finals in each year during my training before turning my focus to the passions of teaching and becoming a Head PGA Professional.
Having gained qualifications in Golf Management and completing a degree in Professional Golf at Birmingham University, I have always looked to improve my knowledge wherever possible.
The desire to improve has led me to spend time and share ideas with some of the great modern golf coaches, including David Leadbetter, Paul Hurrion, Mark Broadie and Trackman inventor Fredrik Tuxen. I also have a passion for using the latest technology with golf tuition and am always looking for innovative ways to improve my pupils’ golf.”
Steven’s informative, yet relaxed approach has created an environment that has attracted both Professional golfers and beginners. His knowledge of the golf swing’s biomechanics and ball flight laws are the main influence in his teaching. This has resulted in an individual tailored approach to coaching rather than teaching a specific method. We hope all members will welcome and support Steven as we look to enhance the benefits of being a member at our Club.
